Thanks to massive lobbying by the state owned railways and their association, the Community of European Railways, there is a real danger that the European Parliament will not approve the railway restructuring proposals on the Fourth Railway Package, putting the clock back several decades and killing private investment and the potential for growth that we have in the UK but in few other member states.
See last plea to MEPs to support the version approved by the EP Transport and Tourism Committee.

These two documents say it all about ‘privatisation’ of railways. And, if you follow the rest of the utilities you will find they too are a failure in the same extreme.
Re- Nationalise the railways along with the utilities.

How many years has this got to be suffered?
Good. Privatisation of the railways has been a disaster. Thank goodness someone is stopping the theft of public assets in Europe even if we won’t do it ourselves.
