    Let us beware.

There are three simpe principles of Good Communication & Honest Argumentation:
    1) Clarity; strive for it.
    2) Charity: seek out the ‘good’ in every otherf participant’s submissions.
    3) Corrigibility: be prepared to retract, and to admit when one has been misinformed, or otherwise gone ‘wrong’ in one’s intention, mindset, or argumentation.

There are also three methodologies for dealing with Problems
    A) ‘Kangaroo-Court’-like Autocracy
[and no nation-state in the world nor religion does not over-use this ‘in the country of the blind the one-eyed man is king’ entrenchedly constituted, legislated, judicial. and regulatory ‘stabiliser’].

    B) Adversary ‘rule of law’ – ‘everyone’s entitled to their day in court’,
“winner to stand tall, loser to topple small”.
[This I see to be a ‘diluted’ form of 1) above – “top-down one-way dictatorship”]

It is the prevalent pseudo “Democratic Rule”, i.e. benign oligarchy posing as a people-initiated-participatory-democracy.

    C) Cooperatively-Participatory “No-Lose” Needs & Hows Recognition and “Win-Win-Win” Problem Solving.
    [Some nations have been teaching this to their Civil Servants, but then on the bigger strategic scale being unable to ‘grow out of’ the prevailing A) and B) above, deeply historical ‘traditions’ of both “quick-fix” at one extreme and “sit back and wait – if it aint broke don’t fix it” at the other extreme, of governance and human-development policy;
not allowing those ‘better clued-up’ civil servants to apply and support the “no-lose” methodology as a progressively better foundation or ‘first-resort’].

    Worldwide the “Rule” is competitively-adversary:
    either
“one side wins, the other loses-out”
or a compromise “both lose something essential”,
and The Arabs versus the Jews is but one of them that is teetering along decade after decade, down an insidiously slippery-slope into hotter and hotter warfare,
or like an unstable volcano about to blow the whole Global ‘Economy’ into smithereens.

Once one has taken one side, against the other, it is never long before that ‘one’ becomes one of the ‘righteously guiding voices’ crying for

    “Let’s you and them fight!”.

It would appear, Lord Hylton, that you have long since become firmly lodged in the Palestinian Camp’s ‘competitively-adversary’ stance – albeit that stance is as destructively ‘we must win, Israel must lose’ as maybe Israel’s is.

As an ameliative here, the best mind-food I know of should include up-front reading of both
“Leader Effectiveness Training” by Dr Thomas Gordon, in all details of every page; and
    “Six Thinking Hats” by Dr Edward de Bono;

and the best lone bedside companion one can gain personal support and ‘spiritual strength’ from would be the CD from the book “Mindfulness Meditation” by Dr Mark Williams.

Thanks for your comments and recommended reading. I have given some support to the Palestinian cause, because it is by miles the weaker one. It is also deeply divided within itself.

It seems to me that whichever angle ones tries to approach the increasingly-clearly conflicting Needs and Wishes of the various Peoples, around the World as well as just in the ‘Middle East’,

and sub-focally here between the Muslim Arab-Palestinians and the Jewish Israelis,

        whether as ‘dove’ or ‘hawk’,
        ‘win-win peaceful-cooperator’ or ‘win-lose armed hot revolutionary’,
as ‘constructor’, ‘depriver’, or as mere ‘pray-er’,
nonetheless armed rebellions, wholesale bloody insurrections, 3rd WW risking brinkmanship warmongerings
are increasingly destroying peace and establishing hot-war commands,
        over whole biomes of territory
not just in a “west bank” here or a “gaza strip” there.

Underlying that inability and unwillingness to internationally-institute a ‘No-Lose’ Cooperatively Participatory problem-solving methodology [such as the Method III]
has been both lurking and festering distinctive hot revolutionary “causes”, skillings, arms-amassments, extinction-scale-sabotagings, and ‘judicious sanctions’.

Lord Hylton, you appear to measure the Palestinian ’cause’ as being ‘miles’ weaker than the Israeli ’cause’.
presumably in terms of land-extents, as well as of internal national governance, economics and securities thereof.

And it appears that you think the Palestinians have a prior ‘divine’ Right to occupy, possess, and rule far more of the overall contrastingly tiny internal Israel territory than the ‘mere’ Gaza strip and West Bank, and other Palestinian-Arab-controlled places, that they already do both civilly and militarily occupy, and aggress from, – and have been doing for many decades.
but continue hotly beligerating without the creatively successful and hard-working bent of the Israelis.
