If the number of Arabs and Saudis, in particular, spending their vacations in Istanbul is anything to go by, 3m per year,
it will be less of a secular state sooner rather than later.
Its interests would be southwestwards and not ENE wards, although both must be possible.
Evidently the same “Warmongering-‘God'” versus “Peaceful-settlement & Method III Cooperative win-win-win Problem Solving
Human-Communities” insidiously-and-hotly destructive stand-off
prevails between Turkey and Britain
as does between Arab Muslims, Israeli Jews, and Messianic Christians.
