Three Jubilee Cheers for those ‘behind the scenes’

Lord Bates

As one of the hundreds of thousands enjoying the Jubilee weekend festivities in London I wanted to offer three resounding cheers to those who made it possible:

Cheer 1: The stewards who were firm, fair, friendly and helpful in suggesting alternate vantage points when sections were too crowded;

Cheer 2: The technical crews who provided the scores of giant screens and PA systems which enabled us latecomers to get a view and keep us informed and entertained and all in HD quality graphics and crisp and clear sound—even in the rain; and

The loudest cheer….

Cheer 3: Those who cleaned up the mess left behind.  As a parent who has spent weeks trying to get the place back to normal after our darling teenage sons decided to have a ‘few friends round’ I was awestruck. On three occasions within hours of the end of the River Pageant, The Concert and the Parade with millions of spectators the place was absolutely immaculate.

How did they all do it? I don’t know, but I am so glad they did because their contribution made the Jubilee weekend.

Thank you.

    The noble lord is still just one of those hundreds of thousands of ‘decent loyal Brits’ to be still afire under the destructive Spell of the Jubilee Altered State of Consciousness

    come down to Earth;
    we do not need “Three Jubilee Cheers – for those behind the scenes” who are only stoking the destructively-smouldering “One Monarchic ‘Leader'” Omphalis into regular flare-ups and into this four-days of grandiosely-deluded ‘British Fireworks Bonfire’ with its Earthlife-Insulting Raging-Beacons of Still-Sacred Pallet Wood.
    ———-
    “How did they all do it ?

    1. Stewarding safe routes –
    for the Delusions-of-Grandeur Parades and Pageantries;

    2. Technically providing E-Screens for The Public –
    so that even British Governing Class latecomers could be ‘included’ in the mandatory Paying of Worship, in personal timeframes, efforts and expenses, to one God-Appointed ‘Leader’ and therein to her millions-strong Staff and Employees-General;

    3. Cleaning up the mess –
    Made mainly by the tens-of-millions of Altered-States-Of-Consciousness-hoodwinked ‘loyal British ‘cheerers’-and-spectators’ :

    They did that ‘work’ because they are employed and paid to do it, Lord Bates.

    They also did it to perpetuate the deliberate Delusion that a small amount of ‘excellence’ exhibited by a small Elite needs to be continually as well as continuously Inflated, overpaid, and given unquestionable Divine-Right-Of-Rule.
    ———————
    What we all need as Responsible Democratic People, and which those ‘Grossly-Overpaid Divine-Right-Of-Rule Elites’ would also real-life-ly benefit from joining in needing, is not “Three Cheers” but “Three Chairs”
    (1) Stewardship for a Constitutionally-Daily-Ongoing Participatively Cooperative Democratisation of by and for The People.
    (2) 24/7/52/1000years Daily Ongoing Two-Way Information-sharing, Education-provision, and Individual’s-Input channels, especially E-Channels, participation-logistics and support-services.
    (3) “Neighbourhood Waiters” to both prevent and clear-away every kind of “mess” that occurs in the implementation of (1) and (2) above.

    It struck me that those behind the scenes were the lumpenproletariat. You know those slaves that were bussed in by companies on the make from the tax payers welfare money for paid the unemployed to survive. Those exploited unemployed who were not paid and left to find shelter under the arches of a bridge. Of course a well organised cover up is in place to fool the public into believing these people should have worn this lunacy with a smile. On two out of 227 we are told. The ungrateful low lives.

    Austerity is a political choice driven by class power and here we see the epitome of it. They succour the rich whilst they stomp on the poor.

    What a British example of class conscientiousness. And here amongst this bastian of austerity we spend millions on gunpowder explosions and rusty tugs pulling a little old lady in the cold and wet down a dirty looking river for the world to record and bear homage. Supreme embarrassment for those who had to suffer it.

    Debt is an excuse to lead a class assault on the well being of the population, which it is implied unseemly to raise or discuss. And for a little history on when this political move took place, which we will call the switch of power relations from the people to the financial institutions in this farce of Capitalism over democracy, was when Clinton was sworn in on Capital Hill in his first term, as political power was no longer able to dominate over financial power.

    As a little back up and an enlightenment for us all we have David Harvey.

      And here is a man, Steve Keen, on radio 4’s Analysis, discussing how any government could change the status quo of debt into the beginning of a way out that would work. And his reasoning is along the same lines I have been spouting since the end of 2007. It felt good to hear at least one other person being allowed air time to make the point.

      But, do the front runners in governments really want an out for us, the people, to be free of this need for austerity? I doubt it. So many at the top of this tree of life are doing so nicely out of it. Aren’t they?
