As Lord Norton mentioned yesterday, the House has now risen for summer recess. We’re expecting to see posts continue over the summer (although at a more sedate pace!), certainly a number of our contributors have already promised to write!

Lords of the Blog has been live since March and we’re about to start an evaluation of the pilot.

Some of you will have noticed that, over on the right hand side of the page, there are links to two surveys. Thank you to everyone that has already filled these in, the feedback we have received so far is very helpful!

If you haven’t filled in the surveys yet, we’d really like you to so that we can hear your views on the blog.

They’re only short and it won’t take you long! All of the feedback we receive will go into the evaluation and so it will help us assess who uses the blog, how successful it has been and what we can do to improve it in the future.

Have you thought of making the blog part of a ‘newspaper’ style activity where each lord has their own blog for articles they write. The paper would have headlines, features etc.

I say this because of the Norton push down effect. Sometimes the effect is so great that others are pushed beyond the last page boundary very quickly giving no time for others to read the post.

If we had 50 peers blogging some might become grumpy at the prospect of ending up in the bit bucket too often. Its a male thing!

Thanks Senex, that’s a really good suggestion for us to think about as the blog grows. It would be nice to have 50 bloggers and we certainly aim to recruit new members during the next session.

I’ve done a couple of initial comments about the running/layout of the site at http://www.bickerstafferecord.org.uk/?p=259#comment-14194, as a result of a initial post of my own to which Virginia was good enough to respond.

I’ll commment more on the content when I’ve digested it a bit more, though my first feel is a bit ‘so what?’ about some of the posts, but then of course that’s the same with all blogs.

Any chance of getting one or more of the Lords Spiritual to blog?
