Parking Appeals

lordlucas1

Have just hosted the launch of parkingappeals.co.uk, Neil Herron’s (of Metric Martyrs etc) latest campaign. Millions of motorists may feel abused, hundreds of little organisations may spring up (like the London Motorists Action Group that I chair), but it takes a national effort to raise the funds needed to challenge the rampant council illegalities in the courts. Neil has a track record that makes me an easy recruit to his bandwagon.

Clear rules, fairly enforced, is what we are after.

Is anybody worrying about 2012? Not the Olympics, but the line up of planets and the end of the Mayan calendar.

Tell us more Barbelo ! Please don’t tell us that the world is ending BEFORE the Olympics ? On the other hand, we might be able to save our selves a good bit of dosh, and restore a lot of funding to the Arts Council if that is indeed the case – might as well enjoy some quality theatre while we can…

As a matter of interest, are parliamentarians allocated a guaranteed parking space at their place of work? Are they exempt from the congestion charge?

ladytizzy, if only! Parking is first come, first served basis on a special security pass and no we aren’t exempt from CC charging. I never use my car. Westminster is brilliantly served by Buses and the Tube of course and many of us use black cabs around central London too.
