First the good news. International students have ranked the UK as the safest place to study because of its multicultural society, the perception that people don’t carry guns and its good medical care, according to new data from the British Council’s Student Insights survey. Safety has grown as a concern to students – surpassing cost of tuition and employment opportunities.
Also, according to official figures published by the Metropolitan police, the current crime rate in London (month ending June 2013) is down overall by 7 percent.
But, on the other hand, crimes such as rape, sexual abuse, and domestic crime, all categories which disproportionately affect women, are all on the rise.
Good medical care?
Hmmm, 40,000 avoidable deaths a year according to the BMJ.
Perhaps you meant free care.
Since the students aren’t paying tax, they get their heath care for free. All because you force us to pay for their medical bills.
Safest place to study is the UK? Please. Safest place for what? Safest place not to have to foot the bill if you come from outside it you mean.
Rape is one of the highest crime rates in universities here in the UK. The crime rate in this wonderful country is hidden because the statistics are not ones they wish to reveal. The fear of the population rising against the politicians who have created this mania is growing as the alarming statistics make it impossible to hide the truth. Social engineering has a large part in the increase. Men reduced to baby sitters and encouraged to be overtly feminine. The removal of the masculine principle of bread winner forcing them into fierce resentment so that the state can push relentlessly the idea of of two 80 hour a week workers for the price of one. Regardless of the suffering of both mothers and their children.
Then, students the overseas variety, that fill our colleges with alien cultures, far outweighing the idea that they will take home the British standards you tell us will be the result of our largesse. What a nonsense you expect us all to swallow.
And as Blagger suggests, free health care for the world, whilst our indigenous people have the bog standard of the third world to look forward to when they face the need for health care.
Europe is not the problem with overseas students. It’s the immigrants that make up 80% of all peoples coming to the UK. That 80% from outside the continent which is still 25 miles across the channel.
Do your figures. And this is what they tell you about. The other millions are out of the sight for all to see. Massaged as they massage all the ‘misunderstandings’ they spin. They oil the stats to suit the politically correct dogma they push down the throat of us all.

And the laugh is, those rock stars who cry ‘feed the world,’ hide their money off shore, and duck UK taxation to pay for their voiced largesse. Along with paying out huge sums to cover their home grown health care, so ‘they’ are not caught up in the mayhem at the foreign run A&E centres.
Likewise, the companies that want to pay peanuts for workers from outside the EU. The heads of all those hidden CEO gathering concerns who fiddle their taxes, pay for health insurance that removes them from the pigsties they force the rest of us to live with.
And whilst I’m at it, why is the UK public not informed on the amount of asylum seekers we have here in this country that emanate from the USA. 68 made applications last year I read. Yes, those fleeing that home of the free for our European shores.
Then, as you will read here, only 20% of our immigrants emanate from Europe. The rest from outside of it. Yet, we hear nothing but those Europeans are taking our school, college and job places, and not a word on the real issue of who what and where we are getting our cheap labour and college students. The issue is, the British people have the right to move around Europe as and when they will. And that they will receive the like of any of the citizens in those countries, as those who come here do. However, UK citizens cannot expect to receive anything like those advantages ‘outside’ of Europe. The UK and European tax payer is funding Globalization. and Globalization is a gravy train for the top billionaires and the financier’s who run this country.
How may British people immigrate to the third world and receive equivalent health care, education, college places, social housing and on and on? Anyone dare to take a guess? Whereas in Europe, if they want to, they can and will get an equal standard of living. If not higher.

So students are not coming here for the lack of crime, they are here for the free beer, which makes them feel very safe indeed. And the UK taxed funder’s are sick of it.
This topic should be about Crime’s greater contextual factors;
rather than misleadingly employing as a Headword the foggy and ‘unreal’ term, “perception”, in purportedly clear-reasoned contrast to the greater ‘”reality”’.
[Note: On the contrary, “perception” is a rational and essential human body-mind function;
and what any individual perceives is not only a subjective micro-fact it is probably at least partly objectifiable alongside the perception of other individuals, cumulatively adding up to collectively- factual Evidence.
So, also, what particular crimes and amounts-of-such-crimes do foreign students (anywhere including how many British?) “perceive” as constraining them ?

I can’t seem to get free access to the actual data (never a good thing) so it’s hard to know how much of this is backed up in the numbers.
From what I can see the USA is ranked 3rd safest ahead of Germany and NZ which should scream to anyone that student perceptions are laughably at odds with the statistical reality.

As for LB’s intervention, “Good medical care” question mark, the number of people who go their deaths from improper NH theatre surgery is phenomenal. Surgeons hold court in clubs, pubs, and other places, to enure a ready supply of patients for the partiicular kind of ops they provide in their theatre.
The state propaganda put out by the National media on behalf of the National Health Service takes some beating for its low morals, inadequate thought, endeavour to influence people to think in an entirely improper way about the meaning of health and sickness.
A largish police force to police the very serious criminal,professional practices in the NHS should be the first thing on the cards, for an organisation of 1.3m employees; there is none.
