First the good news. International students have ranked the UK as the safest place to study because of its multicultural society, the perception that people don’t carry guns and its good medical care, according to new data from the British Council’s Student Insights survey. Safety has grown as a concern to students - surpassing cost of tuition and employment opportunities.
Also, according to official figures published by the Metropolitan police, the current crime rate in London (month ending June 2013) is down overall by 7 percent.
But, on the other hand, crimes such as rape, sexual abuse, and domestic crime, all categories which disproportionately affect women, are all on the rise.
