It is good to welcome Baroness Murphy back to the blog after her extended period of leave! I am going to follow her example and take an extended break. I have been posting fewer entries recently partly because I am focussing on a couple of other projects.
I started blogging as an MP around 2002/3. On coming to the Lords in 2005 I changed the name of my blog to ‘Lord of the blog’ and then when the House agreed to have a group blog I became one of the ‘Lords of the Blog’. It’s time for a break – for you and for me!
I am hoping to start a new type of blog for one of the charities I chair. The Arab-Jewish Forum will renew its web site and have regular posts from community leaders in the Arab and Jewish communities. http://www.arab-jewishforum.org.uk/ We will be paying for site management and because of the nature of the topic it will have tight moderation. I formed the AJF some years ago at the request of some Arabs in my former constituency and continued to chair it as they wanted someone who was neither an Arab or a Jew to be chair. I hope the new approach will enable the group to be reinvigorated and I will then step aside.
I am also building my own web site which hopefully will include a wide range of my work – but this is still under construction. I also want to expand on the work of the Good Governance Foundation. http://goodgovernancefoundation.com/
So I will continue to read Lords of the Blog but will not be posting for a while – I will however be back!!

I doubt whether that ‘new’ (Arab) blogsite will have Topics supportive, preservational and conservational towards ‘nature’;
more probably they will be narrowly confining participants to specific Arab-civilisational topics, enthymemes and ‘hedges’.
I look forward to your new site and, of course, your return here.
Sabbaticals should be available, perhaps mandatory, for all, don’t you think?
I’m going to take Lord Soley’s lead and take a sabbatical too. I’ll be away for three months probably sunning it in the Canaries.
Goodbye!
Lord Soley,
I think that there certain archangels among the heavenly choirs that are most essential. Certainly in this blog you and Baroness Murphy are among that group which play a similar role. Not that you have to believe in archangels,seraphs, Jinn or such to follow the comment…
