Well that`s one thing in your favour, being a “Gooner”. 😉

Good to hear an audio diary of the week ahead, I`m sure it will be busier than you make it seem.

On education, I hope you were not an Ed Balls supporter.

Always a pleasure to hear from a Tolpuddle Martyr. Shouldn’t you be in Australia?

What could education technology do to establish resilient critical masses of participatory-democracy citizenship-improvers/students, for every learning-ability level of the UK populstion ?

We’re talking here ‘people-upwards’ notification of needs, hows and affordable-costs, and similar ‘peole-upwards’ contribution of scrutiny of ‘parliament-downwards’ business,, and of ‘people-upwards’ constructive reasoning and suggestion.

We’re also talking here of every-people-level cooperative Discussion and win-win-win problem-solving extending for months even years prior to the ultimate mere weeks of win-lose-lose-lose-lose media, political, and parliamentary ‘Debating’ take precedence.

    TESTING also hereby:
Sudden blockage have come up, to my usernames and email addresses and to their supposed lockstep-links.
It seems WordPress is doing this blocking rather than LOTB.
I was always automatically logged-on under the ‘pseudonyms’ (actually my real name or initials)
JohnSydneyDentonMiles; JSDM; jsdm; jm; j :
using two email addresses johnmiles1@talktalk.net (tower) and johnsdmiles@hotmail.com (laptop); both using Windows 7 and AVG Professional.

Suddenly it seems I can neither\restore nor reset my details.
But eually suddenly I find I can still post but through either using my laptop real email address (johnsdmiles@hotmail.com) as my Username locked to a mistaken (non-existent) email address johnmiles1@talktaalk.net – one to many ‘a’.

I’m spending hours trying to get this cleaned up; the local community-support computer technician expert seems lost. too, and thinks it is all my fault for not going straight into my WordPress Dashboard and sorting it out ‘plain-sailing’ there – but I’m also finding that a ‘no go’.

Can not find a specific WordPress Help or Contact address, nor an LOTB or Hansard help and support address.

    Suggestions please ?

Can I please mention that Mr.Cameron needs to do some homework re his answers.

By virtually forcing HA`s and Councils to put up Social Housing rent to commercial levels he will increase the bill for housing benefit, not lessen it as he says.

If 2/3`s of Social Housing are those on benefit and the other third maybe just over the level of income he will place more people on benefit and increase the amounts needed to pay for the 2/3`s.

If someone is getting £80 a week Housing benefit and their rent rises by £50, they`ll need £130 Housing benefit. The little gleaned back will be a drop in the ocean.

Yes money maybe put back into social housing but from taxpayers paying benefit not by directly paying for building homes.

The expected unemployment due to cuts will put more on benefit.

The cap on rents should be on a Landlord not a tenant, we need to go back to a Fair Rents Tribunal where Landlords cannot evict a tenant. A £400 per week cap (4 bed property) is more than fair but the tenant HAS to be protected. We need to address greedy landlords who are abusing the system not victimise tenants.

Also to be fair we need to cap costs of MP`s overnight allowances or 2nd Homes. What`s good for the goose……….

And on the otherside, its balance by not paying out.

There are large numbers of people in social housing who needed it in the past, but are now in a position where they are much better off.

It’s the equivalent of bed blockers in the NHS. People who are stuck in hospital beds because there is no place to move them to.

There’s a lot of money to be obtained from not subsidising the rent of the people who are now in a position to pay a market rent.

Why should someone on minimum wage pay 2,500 pounds a year in taxation in order to subsidise their rent?

“There’s a lot of money to be obtained from not subsidising the rent of the people who are now in a position to pay a market rent.”

You are totally ignoring the data ! 2/3 of Social Housing is Housing benefit/Council Tax Benefit.

Let`s do a small example, hypothetically.

    Rent @ £100 per week

9 people to make it easy, 6 are on housing benefit getting say £30 week each. Total benefit cost £180 per week

Rents rise to £150 per week

    Total benefit necessary @ £80 (30+50) each for 6 on HB = £480 a raise of £300

Extra income from rent rise 3 (not on HB) £150

    Added deficit of £150

If we add to that some of the 3 may now be eleigible for HB because of the raise I feel the deficit will be more, which in terms of HB & CTB it will be as these will not be offset by income from rents.

The Maths from Government does not make sense.
