Next week will mark the first birthday of Lords of the Blog. Yesterday, we also reached another milestone: we passed the figure of 150,000 visitors since we started blogging. They are not unique visitors and the figure is modest relative to the sites that attract high traffic, such as Iain Dale and Guido Fawkes. However, given our relative youth and our remit, we are very pleased with the audience we have attracted. The daily viewing figures have climbed over recent months, and it is clear from the comments our posts attract that we have an audience notable as much for its quality as for its quantity. We are also getting more readers as a result of sites linking to us, most notably Iain Dale – who now has our banner on his side column – and lawmum.
We will be developing the site in response to some of your comments, not least the use of Guest Blogs while at the same time retaining the central features of the existing site. We have taken on board the feedback that, though you would like to see more Lords blogging, you do not want too many peers contributing.
We have developed a loyal following and are grateful for all the comments we receive, some of which are made in person or in passing in e-mails. I think the point was made some time ago that one develops almost a family community. We are always keen to hear from our readers, so please do keep reading and letting us have your views.

Funny, I was only thinking last night that when you next post I should ask for a breakdown of the unique visitors and referrers. Iain Dale has often mentioned interesting blogs here so I rather assumed with his traffic numbers he was the top referrer.

Has my invite got lost in the post?
Ladytizzy: I think it will be a virtual birthday party, so all our readers are invited.
If it’s a virtual birthday party then I hope you’re not skimping on the quality of the virtual champaign 🙂
So it’s a Vicar’s and Nun’s do – where, when, what time?
