I am not at my best on a Monday at 6 am, even on a bright Cornish morning. Catching the early train to get to the Lords in time to dispose of a postbag of some 40 items, and as many e-mails, from the Easter Recess made this early start necessary. It was redeemed by an opportunity to visit the exhibition of photos taken by MPs and Peers, sponsored by the photographic suppliers, Jessops.
The Commons Speaker commented that the array of exotic places and people illustrated suggested that Parliamentarians experience a great deal of foreign travel. He left hanging in the air whether this was on Parliamentary business – and at the taxpayers’ expense – or whether these skilful images were merely up-market holiday snaps.
My own modest exhibit is of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster in sharp profile, with the Boxing Day setting sun behind them. For the first time ever, my wife and I spent Christmas in London to be with our little granddaughter, and this photo was a split-second opportunity on the way to the London Aquarium for her benefit. So no sun-kissed tropical scene for me.
(PS: Jessops have put seven of the best on their website, here, and you can vote for your favourite. Mine was not that good, so I will get my clever Assistant to post it separately here.)

Thanks for the link. The photos are of a very impressive quality.
Enjoyed reading the blog, found the phrases used in the House entertaing ,they show you can criticise and remain a gentleman, I had the pleasure of hearing Baroness Blood talk about her life in the House of Lords. As a Northern Ireland man I think she is a great character.
