I don’t think I will be the only person who would like to express admiration for Linda Norgrove and her parents John and Lorna. Linda Norgrove’s untimely death in Afghanistan needs no elaboration but her parents dignified response and the absence of any desire to try and blame the US forces attempting to rescue her deserves praise. It is too easy to lay blame on the people who try but fail to help. John and Linda Norgrove set a great example in the nature of their comments:

How to comment on such a sad event ? How to comment on parents so obviously and rightly proud of their daughter ? How to put into words the selfless acts of such a strong willed, kind person and how to fill that gap ?
There are no words.
Fair play to her father. The major general guy could have kept quiet but did n’t and had the courage to admit that it could have been a US grenade that killed Mr Norgrove’s daughter.
The above charity has been founded by her parents to carry on her work as a biological/botanical expert in war torn countries.
To altruistic and good people such as the Norgroves, human society and man kind owes a great deal.
