I have previously done a post on the Eighth Workshop of Parliamentary Scholars and Parliamentarians, held at Wroxton College at the end of July. As with previous workshops, it brought together MPs and researchers from a wide range of countries. Several members and officials attended from the Indonesian second chamber: the leader of the delegation gave a fascinating talk on the work of the fledgling chamber.
One of the Indonesians attending – Senator Nyoman Rudana, from Bali – was an avid photographer and has since posted his pictures on his website. The pictures give a flavour of the occasion. They may also be of interest in that they cover the visit made by the Indonesian delegation, following the Workshop, to the House of Lords. They were met by one of our Deputy Speakers, Lord Faulkner of Worcester, in the Lord Speaker’s Office. The pictures give a good view of the office. The Lord Speaker is unusual among peers in that she has an office of her own! She is not unique in this respect but she is exceptional.
The Senator’s website, ‘The Indonesian Senator’, is at: http://www.adonisrama.wordpress.com
